What sizes are the building platforms?

The landscaped areas and building platforms vary on each site. The building areas are subject to boundary and slope set-backs. The following figures are approximations only.

  • Lot 1: Landscape area 1000m2, Build platform 900m2
  • Lot 2: Landscape area 2300m2, Build platform 1100m2
  • Lot 3: Landscape area 1900m2, Build platform 510m2
  • Lot 4: Landscape area 1100m2, Build platform 1100m2
  • Lot 5: Landscape area 2070m2, Build platform 1700m2
  • Lot 6: Landscape area 3500m2 , Build platform 2700m2

Are there house and land packages available?

What utilities are available to the house sites?

All Lots have power ducts installed to house sites (with the exception of Lot 3, which has power within the boundary).

There is a reticulated water supply to all boundaries.

 

Are there covenants over the properties?

Yes, a copy of The Highlands Covenants are available on request.

 

What sort of dwellings are permitted under the covenants?

There are no height or size restrictions under the covenants. However, pre-used or second-hand buildings or structures, and/or removable dwellings, are not permitted.

 

Is there a pest control plan in place at The Highlands?

Yes, there is an active pest control program in place managed by the developer. The property owners are expected to continue with pest control management to protect bird and plant life.

 

Are pets allowed at The Highlands?

Yes. Dogs and cats are only permitted if they are managed at all times and are under control so that they do not predate birds. Mustelids and grazing animals are not permitted.

 

How are The Highlands roads maintained?

Council maintenance of Cullen Rd ends 1km before The Highlands entrance sign. From that point on, the road is maintained on an as required basis with contributions from all property owners. The Highlands Roading Committee will represent The Highlands’ property owners interests with regard to road maintenance.

 

How far is The Highlands from the beach?

It is a 10 minute drive to Waipu Cove and a further 5 minutes to reach Langs Beach.

 

How far is it from The Highlands to the city?

Whangarei can be reached by car in 40 minutes. It is a 1 hour drive from The Highlands to The Northern Gateway Tunnel.
